Catch up...

Haven't posted in a long time. A lot has been going on.

I started this post 3 days before Thanksgiving...
Thanksgiving is in 3 days and my kids don't want to go to their dad's because he is taking them to a dinner at a friend of his that the kids don't like. The kids refuse to tell him they don't want to go. This after my daughter didn't want to go and made up 2 elaborate tales to manipulate to get out of it. 1 of the tales involved a call to DCFS. Thank God they are too busy with "real" abuse and when they heard about her illness and a bit of a history of her manipulation, they refused to open a case. Thank God! Because she twisted something that she did. OMG! Last week was hell! So anyway, why can't they tell him? Then can text it for crying out loud!

My gf is not out to her mom. This continues to be a big strain. I was supposed to meet her mom the Monday night before Thanksgiving, but she canceled. I got the call early that morning. Seems suspicious.

My ex bff responded to my Happy Thanksgiving text. However she did not respond to the text I sent this afternoon.

Speaking of my ex bff, it seems that suddenly other couples from the group are no longer talking to us.

My kids haven't seen their dad in over 2 months. They simply refuse to go. We are all pretty sure that he is working and lying to all of us. And he still hasn't given a dime in child support since May. And...he's already told the kids he is not getting them anything for Hanukkah or Christmas. LOSER! Very nice! He had to TELL them? He couldn't see how things go, or how about give them some of the shytload of collectibles he bought when they went to Disney? That would make a nice give and it costs him nothing. Or at the very least, how about a card that says how he feels about them and other mushy stuff. LOSER!

I don't think we get Christmas bonuses at work. (GRRRR!) I think we get a Honeybaked Ham. What if I tell them I've turned vegetarian? Can I get the ca$h instead? (I already have a perfectly nice ham in the freezer and I need the ca$h for Christmas.)

Did I mention that the kids have almost always been home for over two months? (Except for when Anastasia takes them, and that's every other Saturday...if that.)

My daughter had not been doing very well for the weeks before Thanksgiving. She agreed to do chores, but never did them, she never woke up for school on her own. Every morning I had to yell, knock on her door....and then Anastasia tipped me off to something at Dollar Tree... Disposable Air Horn.

A week ago I bought 2. I may go back and buy all they have! I don't know how long they last. And no...I don't immediately go for the air horn. I call her by name, in a pleasant, upbeat voice, it's time to get up. (Nothing). Same thing...then louder. (Nothing.) Then knocking loudly on her door. (a moan) Call her name...repeat. Then she's say something about not feeling well and she's not going to school. She's faking. Now yelling. And more yelling. Finally! She gets up. Now with the air horn, I just do the first part twice, then toot lightly, then louder and louder until she lies about having her feet on the floor. Then one more and she's up and moving slow. EVERY FREAKIN' MORNING!

Another ex of mine who has remained a friend (I should write a book of exes. Lol!), the anti-social one, the one who cancels 3-4 times before you actually get to meet for coffee, the one who whacked me in the head in her sleep? THAT one! So the plans I had tonight were no more. I had talked to another ex who has remained a friend (I should write a book of exes. Lol!) (the Cuban) had called me on my lunch at work and said she didn't have plans later, like after work plus an hour. So when I found out ex anti-social was canceling, I texted her...then she texts me she has plans. WTF! So then I had no plans

I about went ape-shyt crazy! I wanted to not have to go home for SEVERAL years, months, weeks, days...ok...HOURS!

Then I called my gf, who I figures had already made other plans. She hadn't, so we set out to go to dinner. The budget made a turn for Taco Bell. We were going to eat in, until we heard about the escaped convict in Joliet. We hit the drive thru and ate at home...exactly where I was trying to avoid.

Anyway, my daughter did improve a great deal 2 weeks ago. She even earned at status level at school that she had never reached before. She was doing AWESOME! Then one morning she got up late and forgot to take her meds. We've had 1 week of horrible mornings. Today was the last one. I have to figure out...besides the missed meds...what happened differently those 2 weeks that she did very well. All along she's not seen her dad. And sometimes hadn't heard from him for over a week. Hmmm. That's a thought.

Saturday we are having a birthday party for my gf at my house. I am making lasagna. All her peeps are coming....none of mine I invited are. Well...there is Ms. Anti-Social ex...but she's currently at 1 cancellation. So, yeah, none of my peeps are coming. All of her peeps are straight. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just a different group dynamic.) The kids are behind on their chores.

Shoot me!
